Kidnapped!

April 29th, 2008 by Todd

I have been kidnapped by Pastor Zac and our children’s minister, Susan Wanderer.  They brought me against my will to Atlanta, Georgia to the Orange Conference www.theorangeconference.com !   (Well not exactly against my will).

ORANGE is a color that symbolizes integration.  It’s the brilliant result of a merger between two more traditional influences - red and yellow.  Just like something radically new happens when red and yellow come together, there is a different kind of culture that is established when the Church understands the value of a true partnership with the family.  There is a different kind of culture that is established in a church that really values a comprehensive and integrated strategy.

This conference is designed to challenge churches to move past individual ministries like Children’s ministry, Student Ministry, and adult ministry in competing for the same space, staff, and resources and begin to move past ministries being cooperative to now being collaborative.  Could you imagine if we tied our children’s, students, and adults together in the discipleship process (Like the Bible calls for)?  This transition will be hard, but I believe it is best to the kingdom of God and for Mount Ararat.

I will try to share some thoughts as the week continues.

Before you get too worried about me.  Zac and Susan made me suffer last night by eating Steak and Chicken fajitas at a place called Pappasitos.  (www.pappasitos.com) Pray for me!
