Why do braces hurt?

Today, my oldest daughter Hannah got braces!  She was very nervous today driving to the appointment.  In an hour she came out with pink braces across her upper teeth.  I took her to I love Teriyaki for lunch.  She loves it when I take her on a date!  Over lunch she said her teeth were a little sore, but she was going to be a trooper and return to school.  After I dropped her off, I started thinking who was hurting more after todays appointment because writing that initial check was painful!!!  I need some aspirin too!

On the same day Hannah got hers, Alyssa got hers OFF! I will say my celebration came when I made the last payment about a month ago. Good Luck!

I feel your pain…and Taihlor says she feels Hannah’s! We have three in braces and one starting college…ouch! But it is all good and one of the joys of parenting…feeling pain together! family bonding:)

    Todd,

sorry to tell you but it seems as the kids get older it gets more expensive comapred to when they were little. But each stage as they grow is so much fun. I can say we survived 3 out of 4 in braces. After many visits and a few lost Retainers we are done with that stage. And I am sure my family helped pay for the Orthdontist new office space.
I can celebrate I have one graduating College in a week and another graudating HS. They do grow up so fast. Enjoy those girls and each moment.

    Todd,

I remember the day Jasmine got braces. Although she was also in a little pain, enjoying lunch was very important to her before she returned to school. I also remember with joy the day I made my last payment. To help me cope…..I just kept telling myself “I’m paying for a car that I will drive later”. Now when she smiles, I know it was well worth it. Enjoy the many creative colors you’ll see on Hannah’s brace before that beautiful smile is complete.

Y’know, Todd, it seems like straightening us out always causes pain–ours, and most of all, His.
    Praise God for the process!

    Pastor T,

I always heard that braces leads to dating. Your family is growing up fast. Take care of them…
