There is a lot packed into Proverbs

June 23rd, 2008 by Todd

During this summer series, we are reading through Proverbs.  This Old Testament book was written by King Solomon (wisest man ever) about wisdom, understanding, and knowledge.  Take time to walk through the daily readings on the web.  It would be even better if you could read with your family.

REMEMBER : “What happens at home is more important than what happens at church.”

Todays reading: Proverbs 6:1-19

v.1-5  Go make things right with your neighbor.  If you don’t know your neighbors, you might want to start there.

v.6-11  Be productive like an ant.  “Yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.”  Don’t be lazy!

v.12-15  Be true — Be authentic.  To live out deceit, in a wink, or in plotting evil, or stirring up dissension can lead to a terrible reality —no remedy!

v.16-19   There are six things the Lord hates, and seven that are detestable to him:

  1. Haughty eyes
  2. Lying tongue
  3. Hands that shed innocent blood
  4. A heart that devises wicked schemes
  5. Feet that are quick to rush into evil
  6. False witness
  7. A man who stirs up dissension among brothers

How does this apply to your kids?  How does this apply to you?  Live this day for Him!

I am sure you are aware of this father son team - Team Hoyt you can search you tube and find many inpirational postings. This site reminded me of this past Sundays message about children and parents - what an inspiration to see what this father does with his son. Thanks for what you do and the message you send.
