Reflecting on the week at VBS (Add your experience)

June 27th, 2008 by Todd

Mount Ararat,
This has been an amazing week at Mount Ararat.  This week our Children’s Ministry led 481 kids through a life-changing week of Vacation Bible School.  Twenty-one (21) kids accepted Christ!  Praise God!  Moving VBS to the first week of summer was a great move in helping us to reach out to new unchurched families.  I am so grateful for Susan Wanderer, our children’s minister, along with her amazing team: Linda Elliott, Robin Lingo, Michele Ashinhurst, and Jaime Breth.  They mobilized a team of 231 volunteers to make this amazing week happen.  Praise God for our Student Ministry who brought 111 teen helpers to the week.

I am so encouraged to be a part of such an exciting church.  I love seeing our ministries uniting together for the greater cause of leading children to faith in Jesus and also taking the next step in helping them grow in their faith.  Church family, we have been called to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), and that is what VBS is all about!!!

What happened in your week?

In reflecting on my week at VBS, my most memorable moment was comforting a child in our group. One of the little girls became upset & began to cry. As I knelt down on her level, I asked her if she wanted me to pray with her. She nodded her little head in affirmation, closed her eyes, & clasped her hands together. I prayed for her and at the end of the prayer when she opened her eyes I could visibly see peace on her face. As I wiped the tears from her cheeks I knew God had worked through me to bring comfort to this little girl. We recently moved to Stafford and through this incident, God confirmed He’s placed me here for “such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).

I was totally moved by last weeks events at church. I have witnessed hundreds of births in my career and each time there is excitement and many times tears of joy. Last weekend I was moved to tears witnessing these rebirths. God has blessed us sending us the good folks at Mt. Ararat…GO GOD!!!! Sue Wagner

Worshipping with us on Sundays is a great place to start. Let me also encourage you to connect with a small group which can be instrumental in making new friends and developing your faith. These classes meet during all three worship hours at the Mount.

On your next visit, be sure to take advantage of all the great opportunities you will find at the Mount for you and your family to grow spiritually.

I hope to see you soon at the Mount!
