We challenged the church again to get involved in blessing the Stafford Area Schools.  Now lets pray for Principals, teachers, children, and families to be blessed in life, person, and work of Jesus.  We are so blessed, and we have been called to bless the world.

Church family, we collected 299 backpacks!  3 people went shopping.  13 people stuffed backpacks.  15 people dropped off at 12 schools and to social services (volunteers ranged from Senior adults to 6 years old.   Our church collected enough money to purchase:

48 Sketch books, 100 Pencil Sharpeners, 150 Rulers, 150 Protractors, 150 Index cards, 250 Bottles of glue, 250 Boxes of colored pencils, 299 Pencil pouches, 299 Boxes of crayons, 299 Scissors, 300 Red pens, 300 Blue pens, 350 Composition books, 450 Highlighters, 500 Packs of notebook paper, 750 Pencil top erasers, 800 Glue sticks, 850 Large pink erasers, 1,250 Spiral notebooks, 1,350 2-pocket folders, 6,200 #2 pencils.

It is not all we could do, but it definitely is moving in the right direction.  My prayer is that Jesus will do like he did with the 2 fish, and 5 loaves of bread.  To God be the glory!!!PS: Special thanks to Deb Anderson for helping lead this charge!  Her heart is amazing!

I’m always reminded of the end of “Schindler’s List” when Oskar Schindler, after saving 1,100 Jewish people from Nazi concentration camps says desperately “I could have got more.”

While buying backpacks for children is not on the same level of rescuing someone from torture and death, it is a good work that we are doing. 299 backpacks is certainly worth celebrating and giving glory to God.

Let us continue to make a difference in Stafford County.
