Well we finished the first week of school.  Everyone survived the early mornings, dance classes, soccer practices, and earlier bedtimes.  I know it will take a few weeks before the routine sticks so I am trying harder this year to keep the SHEMA goingThis summer series, Raise Him Up on Deuteronomy 6:4-9 stirred something deep within me that I do not want to lose.  As a father, I must disciple my family (especially during the busy times).  God must come first.  This week each night at 7:45pm we read through Hebrews 1-3 to prepare for run.  I love their spiritual questions as we read scripture.  My kids are seeking God.  We are seeking God.

“Hear [Gaston family], the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with your soul, with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them upon your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, and when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols upon your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuternomy 6:4-9
