Pastor Micah shared Sunday that it is tempting to contain worship.  What are the ways we tend to contain worship?

1. To a song or music

2. To a style of music

3. To a worship service

4. To time and space

5. To a feeling

Have you been guilty?

“The sheepherders returned and let loose, glorifying and praising God for everything they had heard and seen.  It turned out exactly they way they’d been told.”  Luke 2:20

As someone who had the opportunity to sing in the choir this past Sunday, I was watching my kids play the Violin for the first time in Church, and I was filled with emotion. It was a very rewarding personal moment in my life as a Father, but as I listened to Pastor Todd’s and Micah’s message, I found myself being Guilty of trying to “Contain Worship” in the moment. Knowing that Jesus died for my sins should be more than enough to move me into a constant life of Praise to the One who Saved me. Lord you are Worthy to be praised!

I would have to agree with Clay about the fact that knowing Jesus died for our sins should want us to do more than just “tell” the good news. We should be evident in our actions and our words. I often fear that if I sway to the music a little too much or if bounce to a really good song that triggers my heart, that others around me will think I am weird. Growing up southern baptist, dancing was not permitted, so I often fear that my mother will come up behind me on any given Sunday and tell me to control myself. Yes, God is reverent and God is peace, but God is also worthy of our praise.

Thank you for the beautiful message, like many others, I truly was touched.
