In my roadtrip back to Texas, I was able to get a taste of Texas.  Before I got on the plane on Saturday, I took the family to WHATABURGER!

Oh, what did I eat?  A double meat with cheese with shreaded lettuce & tomato, pickles, mustard, and ketchup, an order of french fry, a rootbeer, and a chocolate shake. (Yum!  my mouth is watering as I type this)

Greatness!

Todd, if you like Whataburger, then you would really like IN&Out Burger. That’s the only thing I’m looking forward to when we move to California this summer.

Between your Whataburger and the Salt & Steak, you should be my size. I know how good they are and wish I had one right now.

One of the first things Glen did back in 1977 when we first started dating was introduce me to Whataburger in Gainesville, Fla. We would go to whata burge for the burger and in and out burger for the fries. Memories! 32 years ago!

Hi Todd! John and I can eat at Whataburger every day if we wanted to! LOL And Mama’s Pizza, and Papacitos, and Blue Mesa, and Joe T. Garcias, and Cousins Barbecue… and Paris Cafe… and Bosses Pizza… and… Fuzzys Taco…. and…. :) . Yep. Every day if we wanted to! Hey, we could actually WALK to Wataburger if we so chose to do that! We live about a mile from one! Oh, I’m having serious fun here!!! LOL Seriously though, glad to see you made it home for Christmas. We’re on our way to Tennessee (Carrie and Jerod’s place) this Saturday and will be there until January 5. Merry Christmas to you, your family, and to MABC! PS, Hey… Maybe we’ll go to Whataburger on Friday before we leave. We’ll thinking of you! :)

I’ve written 2 other responses to this entry in the past week and have chosen to not click the send button. I guess maybe I might actually send this one (we’ll see)–hey, it will be comment #10, not too many entries here get 10 comments–sorry Todd.

I am simply amazed at how a post on food (that’s not really food–I mean really, does anyone consider ‘fast food’ real food?)–can elicit so many apparent responses when perfectly good, and much more “spiritual” posts go by without a remark. I can only pray (and exhort) us all to be taking the deeper posts to heart (and action) over a burger post.

I grew up in Texas. I don’t EVER recall eating at a Whataburger (used to call it Gagmewithaburger). I did eat at Sonic & Dairy Queen a lot. Especially when they used to serve chicken fried steak sandwiches. Can remember eating a CFSS, fries & malt then going back to work in the summer Texas heat on a construction site (Stephen F. Austin was one of those sites-really good lunches in that town at a drive in diner).

I guess food is spiritual. I’m just praying we don’t get taken in too deeply with the carnal over the much more meaningful posts available here.

    So, what’s for lunch?
