This past Sunday, we met our friend from Keralla, India, Pastor Varghese Thudian. God has done, and is doing incredible things through his life. He shared with us how Jesus rescued his life, and then gave him a new way to live. His mission is to preach the gospel to India, and to raise up the next generation through the care of his 162 orphans that he and Alice are caring for. He also shepherds three churches, and oversees about 70 pastors who represent 150 churches. God is on the move in his life!
How can we help?
We must pray for Pastor Varghese, along with his wife Alice, daughter Grace (at Liberty University), and son Jase.
Perhaps you or your Bible study group might want to financially support a project or a child to help them extend their work.
- A cow (Which can provide 10.litres of milk everyday to feed about 70 children who are below 10 years of age) = $400
- Constuction of Bio Gas Plant (to face the deficiency and unaffordable expense of fire wood) = $800
- Dining Table and Chairs (Mess hall to feed 100 people at a time–30 tables and 100 chairs) = $2,000
- Double Decker cot and mattress (for 60 children) = $3,000
- Xerox machine for office = $1,000

I was just thinking about what a great worship service we had on Sunday, particularly the blessing we had of meeting Pastor Varghese and hearing his testimony. I’m really thankful that Pastor Todd asked him to pray in his native language. Here is why I say that. In talking with my wife, we wondered what someone might have thought who walked into the service in the middle of that prayer. In being honest with myself, I’m sad to say what “I” might have thought. Then this beautiful truth struck me, God can be praised in ANY language. Here is a man whose life is a living representation of the changing power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The fact that he doesn’t look, sound, or even dress like me doesn’t change the fact that we are Brothers in Christ. Rescued by the same Savior, whose love and grace (thankfully) have no geographic or cultural limitations. Let me wrap this up just as Pastor Varghese finished his testimony by saying, “Our God lives”. Yes He does. Have a great week.
Both of our children had the joy of sharing life with the beautiful children of India at this orphanage and one day I am going to put my feet that same soil if God will allow me the opportunity. In the mean time He has given me several hundred children to nurture at school every day. What a great and glorious God we serve.
We are so grateful that our daughter, Katelynn, had the opportunity to see God’s hand at work in India & at the orphanage with Pastor Varghese. It impacted her life! He is being used in a mighty way to win others for Christ.
