Under the Sun: Connecting to a Life Worth Living This summer, we continue our quest for life through the wisdom writings of the Old Testament.  We will listen to King Solomon’s reflections about a life.  What did he gain from success?  What did he learn from failure?  Can you believe that the wisest man would make mistakes too?  This reinforces we all have a sin nature toward selfishness.  At least wise King Solomon was willing to learn from his mistakes.  That’s real wisdom!      What are your questions about life?  What are your questions about God?  How do you deal with uncertainty?  Are you running too fast, or maybe too hard?  Does your life feel cheap?  What gives you worth?  What are you building your life upon?  Where is God when bad things happen?  Is God good?  Is he sovereign? King Solomon wrote this letter to the world dealing with these questions.  He repeats a phrase, “Under the Sun” as a reference of life here on earth without connecting to God.  His conclusion is it leads to a life without meaning.  What hook are you hanging your life upon?  What are you chasing?  Is it providing worth?  We are all searching for a life worth living, Under the Sun.
