This past Sunday, Rory Tyer (A former student in the MABC Student Ministry, and recent graduate from Liberty University) preached a message from Ecclesiastes 4:1-3 – What’ Wrong? He addressed the issue of injustice in our world. Here are some notes and thoughts to what I experienced this past Sunday.
When we see or experience justice, like Solomon we ask why? We turn to God, and ask where are you? Something deep within us wants to know why did God not prevent this from happening? Is He not powerful enough? Is He not good? Why can injustice lead us to challenge God’s character? What about our character or our responsibility?
God answers injustice by establishing His Kingdom.
The Kingdom of God is God’s ruling authority.
- The Kingdom of God is not yet – it will one day be consummated or completed.
- The Kingdom of God is already – it was inaugurated or begun at Christ’s resurrection (Matt. 6:33, Luke 16:16; Col. 1:13-14)
At the present time, the Kingdom of God is available to all who seek it.
- We experience the Kingdom as we follow Jesus.
- Practicing spiritual disciplines helps invite God’s rule into our lives.
- “We are living in the tension of already, but not yet!”
“The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” – Paul (1Corinthians 15:26)

It left me with some thoughts:
- Apart from God, what are we evil are we capable of?
- With God, what good are we capable of?
The truth is that experiencing injustice and sitting back and watching injustice has more to say about sinful humanity than it does about God’s character. God has spoken about injustice, and now it is our turn to join Him.
Christians: This earth is the closest you will get to hell!
Non-Christians: This earth is the closest you will get to heaven!
Thank you, Rory for challenging us to be heralds of God’s word and action to injustice. You challenged me!

The message was inspiring, convicting, and brought clarity. Thank You for having Rory teach us this Sunday and bringing us to the throne. He helped clarify Matthew 24:14. Now I “get” the wording of the phrase which culminates with “and then the end will come” God will have His ruling authority preached to all the people groups then it is complete. The cool part is that He allows us the priviledge to join Him in making that happen. I knew this, but it was to scattered in my head for me to explain it well. Gotta love those AHA! Moments. Holy Spirit Revelation
Contrary to what one would think living here ‘together’, the ‘relationship’ that Christians and Non-Christians have with this earth couldn’t be more opposite! I never thought of it in such simplistic terminology!! I see a bumper sticker or license plate surround with this comparison on it!!
