It is wild to think that 18 years ago, I got down on my knee in front of my family and in front of Pam’s family to ask for her heart in marriage. It still blows me that she said, “Yes”. This past Saturday, August 1st we celebrated 17 years of marriage. A lot has happened to us, with us, and around us, yet through it all we continue to trust in Jesus and in each other. Our marriage is far from perfect, but I cannot even imagine another person to share my life with. I am so blessed!
We are in an interesting stage of life. For example, who would have imagined that we would have spent our 17th anniversary at Curtis Park Pool getting sunburned while watching our three daughters finish the summer swim year. Now that I am in it, I wouldn’t want it any other way. I found myself smiling through the day in between Cheese IT crackers, watermellon, a warm Turkey sandwich, and a bottle of water. I am so blessed!
“God, please give me another 17 years with Pam. May she continue to say, ‘yes!’ I know there are no guarantees in this world, so at least help us to live in your presence everyday. I love you, Jesus.”
