This past Sunday, we had Pastor Tony Merida from Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi shared with us on the 8 similarities of God’s Adoption of us and our Adoption of Children.
Check these out:
1. Adoption saves the child from bad situations. (Galatians 4:4, 8; Ephesians 2:1-4)
2. Adoption is planned. (Galatians 4:4; Ephesians 2:1-4)
3. Adoption requires the right qualification. (Galatians 4:4)
4. Adoption is costly. (Galatians 4:5)
5. Adoption involves a change in legal status. (Galatians 4:4-6)
6. Adoption involves the Spirit of sonship. (Galatians 4:6; Romans 8:15-16)
7. Adoption transforms the child. (Galatians 4:7; Romans 8:14)
8. Adoption gives the child the right to be an heir of the Father. (Galatians 4:6-7; Romans 8:16-17)
What did you hear God say to you?
What are you praying about?
What will you do to care for the Orphan?

As I sat there crying through most of the message Sunday, God reminded me once again of why we adopted our two incredible, beautiful, wonderful girls. Parenting teen-agers is an adventure and I felt renewed in parenting. How thankful we are to the Lord for these 2 precious daughters! I am praying the Lord will open the doors if I can be of service to others adopting….a possible ministry at church…
It made our family think a little bit more about adoption. I read a great article about adoption right here in the U.S. It was in this month Focus on the Family magazin.
