I realize this is a touchy topic within the culture which we live.  However, the Bible is clear since the creation story; Male and Female are created equal and both are made in God’s image.  Where they were created equal it is important to know that they were not created the same.  Each were to serve a different role and a different purpose.  This has been lost in our culture, and even within our church’s.  This is largely due to men unwilling to lead.  It is time for men to step up, and take the role God called us for. 

The pattern of masculine leadership and feminine responsiveness is well established in scripture.

1. She was made for the man.

2. She was made from the man.

3. She was brought to the man.

4. She was named by the man.

Headship is: responsibility, duty, sacrifice, not rank or domination.

Men need to lead with love and honor for the woman.

Women need to be able to trust in the justice of the man’s leading.

Ephesians 5:22-33 gives the best picture of what this mutual submission looks like.
