I have been on hiatus the past week due to snow. I am not sure what is more sore, my finger tips or my lower back? I will start with my lower back since that one is more obvious. Is anyone else tired of “Shoveling Snow”? I am so ready for spring where I can mow my grass every 10 days versus shoveling snow every few hours. Last week when the first storm began to hit, Pam and I went out to shovel snow every four to five hours. The logic was to not let the snow get ahead of us. I felt like whats the use in the same I feel about making my bed that I am going to re-enter in 15 more hours, or raking leaves when there are still more on the trees. This time I didn’t fight it, I complied while dreading every new shoveling alarm. Every time I tried to shovel new patterns to see if that would speed up the process, but it always seemed to neverending task. On Sunday instead of preaching at Mount Ararat, I joined the neighborhood for another community event — shovel out a car lane from my cul-de-sac. It took us over four hours of huffing and puffing. It was an amazing result until later that night the plows showed up and left frozen walls in front of everyone’s drive. AAAAGGHHH!!!!
The reason my finger tips hurt is from the 20 plus hours I have logged with my girls on Old School Mario Bros. on Wii. Every waking minute in the house, Hannah would turn to me and say, “you want to play Mario?” We have not played that long, ever!!! Hannah and I conquered all 8 Worlds, and now we have been at a stand still with the final challenge — Bowzer’s Castle! (If you have a tip, we will take it). Today, Lexie and Sydney led me down to join them in their battle with World 4. Here we go again!
So I am not sure what is more sore? My finger tips??? Or my back??? I know I am a slow learner, but I am finally appreciating the time at home. Not only are we eating all of our meals together, but Pam has made some amazing desserts. I need to go back to work to eat less and lose some weight. Hopefully we will all look back on the Winter of 2009-2010 with incredible memories. It has been a great week in connecting with neighbors, and spending quality time with my kids. Well for now, I have American Idol, and another crack at Bowzer’s Castle(Bowzer is 100 feet tall).

But that should be the perfect balance! Shoveling the snow should take care of eating the dessert!
