Today, my three daughters started school!  Hannah is in the 8th grade, Sydney in the 5th grade, and Lexie in 3rd.  It is crazy how fast time seems to move.  I still remember the long walk for Hannah as we led her to her first day of Kindergarten.  The verse that keeps coming to my mind as I pray for them today is:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for people.” Colossians 3:23

I am praying for you today as you send your kids off to school.  May our kids live for Jesus.

Pastor Todd

I always looked forward to the first day of school as a kid and as a mom. Today was the first time in 20 years I didn’t have a child going off to public schools. It is amazing how fast the time has gone. Parents out there should just enjoy this time of life with kids in school it does go by fast.

Todd I have to tell you I was once again reminded how great it is to be a part of God’s church, Mt. Ararat. I was completely humbled today when a student came in without supplies and our staff was able to tell them we have some. Come to find out the one they had was Ni-hao Kailan backpack (for those of you that have to endure Nick Jr. you know what I am talking about) the students favorite. However, it wasn’t the the fact that the backpack was one she wanted-that was an extra bonus. I saw the tag “Mt. Ararat” and saw her unpack the supplies inside. She was truly overwhelemed and responded with, “Is all this for me?” Sometimes I am asking God the same question with the overwhelming grace and blessings He has shown me, even admists the trials, “Is all this really for me God?” Wow! Thank you God so much for the many gifts we have to unpack in this life. If you get the chance please share. I have always heard of the blessings and seen the backpacks be passed out, but have not had the privilege to literally put a backpack in a child’s hand. Thank you church for investing in people’s lives! Please pray for the families that are receiving these backpacks – this was just one story.
