      Destination — Texas

      saltgrasso8.jpg

Thanks for your prayers.  We left at 12:30pm (ET) on Thursday December 18, and we pulled into my Mom’s driveway at 10:30am (CT) on Friday December 19.  That was with a stop at Chili’s (Bristol, VA) and a breakfast stop at Cracker Barrel (Greenville, TX).  What a night, but we made it safely.  Thank you, God, for giving me an alert mind all night long.

Dr. Pepper and a few Charms Blow-pops helped me through 3:00am-5:00am.  Pam took over at 5:00am – 8:00am so I could finish the rest.  (No, I did not let Hannah drive yet)

Tonight, my family took us out to Salt Grass Steakhouse.  What an incredible Texas meal!  I had Ribeye Steak, Sweet Potato, Salad, fresh bread with honey butter.  And yes, it was as good as it sounds.

I am vising my grandfather, MD Gaston (86 yrs), in Tanglewood Nursing Home.  Pray we connect tomorrow in our visit.  We will also be celebrating Christmas with my Dad and his side of the family.  I then will get on a plane back to VA.

Mount Ararat, I cannot wait until Sunday and Christmas Eve.

Road Trip (1,304.62 miles to Texas)

Be praying for me and my family.  In two hours, I will be driving my family back to the Lone Star State for Christmas (Texas).  I just reviewed the trip on Mapquest, and I found out that it is 1,304.62 miles, and it should take us 20 hours and 39 minutes.  Yikes!  We are going to driving it straight through with Pam and I rotating (I might even teach Hannah to drive to share the load, heck maybe even Lexie).

Don’t worry between the DVD player, I-pod, the radio, coca cola, Big Red Gum, Mountain Dew, and of course the Holy Spirit we will arrive safely around noon tomorrow.  Then the real dilemma, where to eat: Pappacitos Tex Mex, I Fratelli’s Pizza, Spring Creek Barbecue, Salt Grass Steak House, Pappadeaux Seafood, or Babe’s Country Cooking???  Decisions, decisions!???!!

I will be flying back Saturday night to stay here until Christmas Day, and then I will return with the family to enjoy sometime there before enduring the wonderful road trip back to VA.  It’s all good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please pray for me!   And yes, I will take my Pepcid AC.  Thanks for caring!

      Glorious Unveiling (Micah Watson Band)

I have loved the title of our Christmas series, Glorious Unveiling.  It shares so much about Jesus showing up and revealing His glory.  It also reminds us that we are supposed to respond to His coming!  We have been called to worship Him!!!  We have the privilege of worshipping Him!!!  When he reveals himself, we cannot...

      Brian Houston (Pastor of Hillsong)

Brian Houston, Pastor of Hillsong United in Sydney, Australia wrote these words about his dream for his church.  I found them inspiring and encouraging for all churches to be the inspiring Body of Christ.  Check it out:    “The church that I see is a church of influence.  A church so large in size that the city...

      Girl Bashers!

The Girl Bashers By Kary Oberbrunner, author of The Fine Line Every guy knows the rule. You can talk about someone’s lack of athleticism, humor, or even intellect, but you never disrespect his girlfriend. A couple of years ago, I gave in. I broke the rule and badmouthed someone else’s girl. I was sitting in a coffee shop...
