We are two and a half days into our week long prayer journey in the special prayer tent that is set up on the backside of the property. I have been so blessed in being in the presence of God with many of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I have witnessed a variety of our people, and groups coming in at the various hours. I sense God’s closeness everytime I enter in the tent. This morning, my heart woke up my body long before the alarm sounded. I could not wait to get to the tent!
If you have not had the blessing yet to come pray at our different hours, the good news is it is not too late. Whatever you do, do not miss out on what God is doing in the heart of our church. I realize you might have to adjust to prior commitments, but I speak from a personal place. It is so worth it!

Mary Jewell is one of our precious ladies that is always up for an adventure. She trained with the Red Cross and with Virginia Baptist to be able to help during crisis situations. She was notified about heading to Texas for Hurricane Ike relief. She left September 14-24. She is there to be on the front lines to feed people in need. Her team has fed 7,000 people during her trip so far. She said it was has been hot, but a blessing to serve. I am amazed at people like Mary who prepare themselves for God’s call.
I also heard from Julius and Cheryl George. They just so happened to be visiting family in New Orleans during the same time. They headed over to Texas and shared that the real struggle is no electricity and no ability to pump ga. They shared they would keep us updated in how we help in the days to come.
Let’s keep being the church!
